I am VERY pleased with this camcorder and plan on using it for special purpose filming of wildlife. Unfortunately, in order to get a great eBay price from a reputable seller, I had to purchase the camera with NO accessories. Well, I was able to download a manual off the JVC site in a PDF format, so that went well. I was able to purchase a spare battery and AC/DC charger off eBay, so I can charge my batteries.

Download the latest JVC Everio device drivers (Official and Certified). JVC Everio drivers updated daily. Download Now.

The 4GB microdrive was included (whew, what a pricey thing that would be to replace). The pieces of the pie that I am missing and cannot find are the AC adapter that actually plugs into the camera and the original JVC software for downloading and editing that normally would have been bundled with the camera. I understand from various reviews that the software is proprietary (ie that this particular software is needed to download and edit images from the camcorder). I guess my first question is does anyone have a spare copy of this software available? If not, is there somewhere I can purchase this software? Tecnomatix 8 2 Rapidshare Movies. Is there any way to download the files onto my computer (via the USB port) and then convert them to a format that I could edit?

Let’s say I get the OEM JVC software and can finally download movies to my computer. Will I be able to import these into Windows MovieMaker like my other files (so I can edit and use them for making a movie and/or DVD)?

Sorry these questions seem so rudimentary. I know that they have probably been answered before, but I cannot find a post that is entirely on point. I apologize in advance if this posting is considered stupid. THANKS to anyone that can help!:). Feedback I have renamed EVERY SINGLE one of my files from.mod to.mpg and when I try to import them into Windows Movie Maker it says:[ cannot be imported because the codec required to play the file is not installed on your computer.

If you have already tried to download and install the codec, close and restart Windows Movie Maker, and then try to import the file again.] OR it says: [could not be imported. The selected file is not valid or is corrupted.] What am I supposed to do???

For some reason, the camera did not come with the software it was supposed to come with, so I’m stuck. Sorry, but can someone please help? Feedback You have to select the back up on your camera itsef. When you plug it into your computer, there is a menu that comes up and one of the selections is “backup”. At that point the computer recognizes the camera Darbalicious wrote: I have a JVC Everio GZ-MG330 that I am trying to retrieve videos from. I plug it into the computer and it automatically asks if I want to playback on PC, Copy, or backup.

I open the program that comes with it then click on backup but the program says that an Everio product is not connected. When I try to look at the videos, there are none showing up.but I can watch them on the camera. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks, Darbalicious. Manually changing the file extension may work but it’s kind of impractical when you have over a hundred files on your camera. If you want to rename a bunch of files at the same time, you can easily do it by going to Start >Programs >Accessories >Command Prompt and then typing: rename d: sd_video prg001 *.mod d: sd_video prg001 *.avi Use the correct drive letter where i used d: (yours might be e:, f:, etc).
