Insignia Dvd 800 Software Update
Redmama14, unfortunately you're not going to find an update that will let you play the very newest Blu-rays on that player. The fundamental problem is that movie studios have gotten paranoid over piracy, and now they intentionally break their own DRM every so often, changing it so newer movies won't play on older players until and unless they get a firmware update to patch in the new DRM rules. For whatever reason, Insignia can't make those updates anymore. (I expect the Asian OEM that originally made the players probably went out of business or something.) So they can't patch in those new DRM rules.
Effectively, what you now have is a fancy DVD player that can play older Blu-rays. The only way you're going to get something that can play newer movies is to buy a new Blu-ray player.
May 23, 2014 Insignia; Insignia; upgrade CD500 to DVD800. Just need to overwrite software. Vauxhall cd 500 firmware update, upgrade cd500 to dvd 800.
I recommend a major name-brand; they're usually able to keep their players updated longer.

Click to expand. I have a problem with my Insignia's (Exclusive NAV) USB Connection (DVD800). It constantly disconnects and reconnects whenever it pleases. Mario E Sonic Ai Giochi Olimpici Invernali Wii Iso there. I've had it into 2 different dealers 6 times and Vauxhall has finally admitted they are aware of the issue but there is no fix and no date for a fix. They even made me buy one of 2 pen drives before any more work would be carried out.:shake I also get around 26mpg out of my 1.8 Petrol but if I drive REALLY REALLY REALLY easy I can push around 33ish. Still Crap though.:shame: At the point of sale I was also told the radio was a DAB Radio but have since found out it is most certainly not and the user manual also seems to indicate it should be. I think its the last Vauxhall for me after having 3 brand new ones and one second hand one.
Not Good Vauxhall:grrr. I expected the same dab radio. However if you re-read the manual it does say that with the sat nav option, you lose the dab radio!!! Currently i have lost all power to the infotainment system and is booked in for the sixth time!!!! Apparantley there is another satnav recall. This makes this the second time for a sat nav re-call in 2 months. It has also been recalled for fuel filter housing problem, igintion barrel problem, quarter light problem, heated seat problem, and further sat nav problem!!!
No more vauxalls for me!! I have been very reluctant to post anything negative about my car as owners forums are generally used by devoted fans, and rightly so. I thought I had bought the only problem car, but evidently not! It would be inappropriate to list everything here, but I think my vehicle has all of the identified Insignia faults and loads more of it's own. Elementi Di Fisica 2 Mazzoldi Nigro Voci Pdf To Word. Vauxhall Customer Care estimated that my car had cost between £5,000 and £7,000 in warranty repairs and that was before it had new glow plugs, pressure sensors, infotainment multi-function switch, clutch, flywheel (number 4), and the cost of a hire car for two weeks while the work was done.
I am in the process of setting up my own website listing the problems that I have had because I think that it is only fair that prospective owners of an Insignia know what they are letting themselves in for with the car, dealers and Vauxhall. It was literally going to be a site using my car as a case study, but if you think it's worth expanding, I'd be interested to hear what features you would like including. In my case, apart from adjusting the steering wheel so that it finally pointed straight when the car was going straight and curing a rattle behind the dashboard, despite all of the money and time spent, it is difficult to identify anything that has actually been fixed as all of the original faults, reported before the car was one month old, still remain.
The car is now an elderly ten months old. The only saving grace is that I have the 160 Ecoflex which, when it's not getting repaired, goes very well and returns good mpg. The hire car I mentioned above was the 1.8 petrol and it was exactly as you've described, awful! The Ecoflex is a good 20 mpg better, and the performance is in a different league.
It's a shame I don't get to drive it too often! Keep smiling and don't let them grind you down. Hi Heckler1137 Yes I’m up for your website after today’s experience. I don’t want to bore you with all the details but today’s experience with a Vauxhall Dealer in Bury can only be described as totally unprofessional and aggressive. Basically, today I have Formally Rejected my Insignia and demanded a full refund by Friday 3rd Sept. They and another dealer have been trying to fix it for over 5 months under the instruction of Vauxhall Technical Assistance.
As I said in my last post Vauxhall have openly admitted there is an issue and there is no fix for it and no date for a fix. I’ve told them if I don’t have my refund by close of business on Friday I’ll be passing my case over to the Motor Industry Code of Practice to which I have already contacted prior to rejecting the car. The real big problem with the USB is how many people actually use it?
I bet only 35% of Exclusive NAV drivers actually use it because most younger techi minded people can’t afford a £15’000 motor. So the rest of Exclusive NAV Drivers will be older company car owners and again how many of them use the USB? Vauxhall have not got the full picture of the extent of the problem but I think Jeremy Clarkson who hates Vauxhall’s and the Local press would love to do an article on this fault and how dealers are treating loyal customers! Anyway, keep me up to date and I will do the same. I use the USB all the time, I have an ipod video 30G and it works pefectly 99% of the time, occasionally I can turn on the ignition and I'm unable to select the ipod, its like it doesn't see it.
Even disconnecting it and reconnecting it doesn't work. Eventually I can get it sync'd. This only happens once every few weeks or so.
The only other problems I have had were auto lights that stayed on regularly in broad daylight. The car went in for a service and I told them about it and the guy who brought it back said we couldn't reproduce the fault (it did it most of the time) and said 'mine does it too' However, it was miraculously fixed when I drove it again, and has never been a problem since. So I'm guessing there was some kind of firmware update that happenned before they looked for the fault.
The other problem I had was water collecting in the rear near side door, after rainfall if you opened the door it was like a waterfall. They claimed to have fixed that, but the other day it happenned again. I've also got very badly scored rear discs, which they are claiming must be hard spots in the pads. Its not being done until the pads are worn down some more. Apart from those things my insignia has been fine, and I still like it!
It goes well and gives me 42+ to the gallon. Razzandy, I've experienced total disinterest from the supplying dealer and outstanding service from a recommended dealer.
The unfortunate thing is that, try as the recommended dealer might, including direct contact with the relevant heads of department at the factory in Germany, they cannot resolve most of the reported problems. I have the 'iPod disconnected' problem on a regular basis, but unlike yourself Dudeonline, I'm not as patient. I did not spend all that money to have the inconvenience that goes into re-setting the system. The recommended dealer has changed the entire sound system bit by bit, and the fault is still there. I have even sent my iPod back to Apple and they have confirmed that it's working perfectly.
Admittedly this is just one aspect, and if it were the only one then I'd possibly be more relaxed. I too have had the light sensor replaced for the same reason. I think mine was replaced without quibble because I have suffered from the 'we couldn't reproduce the fault' line so often by the supplying dealer that I carry a camera with me and record the occurrences. Either that or drive to the recommended dealer so that they can 'strap it to the laptop' while the fault is present. I have a bit of a potential 'You tube' library now. It makes interesting viewing when you reverse into an open field and the parking sensors go off.
Despite the entire parking sensor system being replaced, you might have guessed, they're still faulty too. If you need any reassurance, I'm not regarded by anyone from Vauxhall who has had personal contact with me as anything other than a reasonable bloke. I do not shout and ball, in fact, I think the staff in the recommended dealership enjoy the jokes that I have with them, because owning this car has certainly become a joke.
I know that they're getting my desk ready now (standing joke) for when I take the car in next week to have the steering judder under braking investigated (new fault), together with the poor gearchange (probably needs some re-adjustment after it's new clutch). In my case there is loads more but I really do not want to take away from the enjoyment of the many happy Vauxhall Owners who use this, and a number of other Forums, by posting negative material all of the time. With that in mind, I'm thinking of changing my website from the previously described case study to one a bit like this one but where dissatisfied owners can share their experiences without upsetting the fans. The website name fits perfectly with the concept.what do you think?
